Would creeping charlie outcompete crabgrass?

Our entire backyard has no grass, it's entirely crabgrass. This year a little patch of creeping charlie popped up in a corner and is starting to spread. I like charlie more than the crabgrass, so I am wondering if charlie would be able to choke out the crabgrass.

Probably not. Creeping Charlie does not form a dense enough mat to really choke out the crabgrass. I have not tried this experiment personally, so I don't know for sure but that's my hunch.

definitely not. Crabgrass is a difficult plant to remove.
