Anybody ever plant Liriope?

i want to obtain a fast spreading groundcover for an area that is shady and somewhat dry.. I know pachysnadra is an option, someone has told me liripe works and looks better?

How fast does it spread? do I fetilize intilally??? I have arelaitive ly big area i want to fil in.

It will take a year or two to get started- be sure to get Liriope spicata- it spreads faster then the muscari. It will spread faster if you water it.

I love lirope. If you want to have all lirope then plant many small sprigs of it. One big clump is not as good as several small pieces for eventual covering. Say 6 inch spacing for coverage in a year or two.
You can also plant a few bulbs (daffodils or lillys) in between for a few blooms. They may eventually get choked out but would be pretty for a few years.
I don't fertilize and water a few times when starting but this plant is very resilant. It does love water, but will live in even the worst conditions...in my experience.
