i have english ivy take over, it was my neighbors all over his house and I tried to kill it on our side when we moved in, but it is everlasting. Now I have plants planted there, the ivy has taken over again, is there anyway to kill it without killing my plants I want to keep. I have hydrangias and some lily of the valley, hostas, and lily turf. I don't know what is more dangerous to my plants, trying to pull and kill out the ivy or the ivy taking over. The lily of the valley is especially important to me as it is from my grandmothers home and I don't want to lose it. the people who bought her home were kind enough to let us dig the last of it up. Any suggestions? I used to want ivy - now that I have some that came with my house, I never want to see it again.
Well if you believe Roundup would kill your other plants then I suggest you start digging up the ivy and use Roundup on a hot afternoon not near the perennials.
