vinca minor

I planted vinca minor on a northeast facing hillside 2 y rs ago. The size of the hillside is about 20ft X 150 ft. The vinca is filling in but there are also a lot of weeds, especially dandylions. Will the vinca eventually take over or do I have to try to remove the weeds on such a massive area? Thanks for any help!

RE: vinca minor

Perennial weeds like dandelions will need to be removed until the vinca fills in completely. Annual weeds will eventually be smothered and unable to reseed through the thick groundcover but perennial weeds are far more persistant and will emerge up through the GC unless manually removed.
