Shaded Area Under House Eaves?

The area under our eaves is generally dry, and grass does not grow well there. However, when it rains heavily and drips down from the eaves, it becomes a muddy mess. Any suggestions for a ground cover that could be mowed as it will gradually blend in with the lawn/grass? Thanks!

RE: Shaded Area Under House Eaves?

Some suggestions-

Epimedium sp. which make a nice ground cover and can be sheared every winter to remove old foliage. They bloom in spring.

Pulmonaria sp. which bloom in spring, many varieties available, nice foliage with silvery variegation the rest of the growing season, self-seed.

Symphytum grandiflorum- ground cover comfrey, spreads rapidly, blooms in spring, one of the few groundcovers stronger than grass.
