watering newly planted vinca minor

I planted it two weeks ago. It's under a Japanese Blood Maple where I have had a hard time growing grass. I've been watering it every other day when it doesn't rain. Is that too much? Every day I find a few yellow leaves. Is that from too much water or not enough? The ground feels quite dry at the surface after two days with no water. I don't want to ruin these. Thank you.

Did you amend the soil when you planted because the soil shouldn't be dry? It seems like a lot of water, twice a week should be sufficient. Surface dryness is one thing stick your fingers down 4 inches. To learn how to propagate vince for additional uses I have included the following link.

Here is a link that might be useful: Propagating Perennials
