pachysandra -Which Variety?

| Friends, have a shady area on a slope I would like to cover with pachysandra - will be in front of boxwoods, Zone 6.
Can anybody reccomend which variety would do best on a slope and maintain its color the best in NY winters? Thank you so much - didnt realize there was more than one variety until I went to buy!
BTW = anybody have any experience with any of the ebay sellers selling pachy?
Thanks,
Lou |

| Native pachysandra (P. procumbens or Allegheny spurge) has a grayer color to the foliage, spreads slowly and tends to be decidious in northern locations. Japanese pachy (P. terminalis) should have a rich, deep green color, is fully evergreen and will tolerate deep shade. There are a number of cultivars - 'Green Sheen' has very glossy foliage, 'Variegata' has a thin white edge, 'Green Carpet' is short (to 4") and 'Cut Leaf' has deeply dissected foliage. |
