ornamental strawberries & fruit bearing strawberries

I need some opinions here. I have quite a bit of ornamental strawberries in my landscaping. I think it is pretty, but last year I pulled a section out and planted fruit bearing strawberries. They are doing well, but the ornamental kind are coming back. I have been trying to pull those out, but it's kind of hard for me to tell them apart when they are young and kind of hard not to rip the runners out for both. I was wondering if I need to? Can these plants coexist or will the ornamentals stop the growth of the fruit bearing? Can I plant more fruit bearing in other areas of the ornamentals without ripping them out? I guess I am trying to get the best of both, the beauty of the ground cover and the fruit. Thoughts? Thanks!
