growing ajuga from seed

I have a very large area where I want to plant ajuga as a groundcover. I do have some in other areas that I could move, but it would take forever to fill in. I can get 400 seeds for $14 which seems pretty inexpensive. I'm just wondering if anyone has tried planting it from seed before. Is it easily successful? I'm looking to fill the area in as quickly as possible. Thanks for any comments or tips!
