| Hey guys,
Currently, my San Diego yard's slopes are covered in red apple iceplant (Aptenia cordifolia). Unfortunately, while a succulent and excellent at holding water, it does require sprinklers or it will die, creating horrid brown patches of dirt and yellow plants. I was wondering whether anyone knew of a good, drought-resistant replacement for the red apple in at least some parts of the garden.
I was also thinking of reintroducing some native chaparral plants that grow very well on the surrounding hillsides.
If you have any ideas, please post them.
Thanks,
Tom. |
