what to plant??

I have a large old oak tree, doesn't really create that much shade. The leaves are all at the top. My bermuda grass is getting plenty enough sun under the tree, but the tree is sucking all the moisture out of a large area around it. This is on a fairly steep slope. What do I plant around it, where the bermuda has thinned out?? Could really use some help on this one.
thank you,
Michal

Try sedums. Their roots are shallow and they don't need a lot of water or care. If you do a Google on them, you may be surprised at the variety that's available.
