The Blue Carpet sedum (from Stepable) was perfect for my "purple" garden theme so I tested one before putting in more. The chipmunks (I assume it's the 'munks because they're the ones digging in everything) tore one side off while they were burying maple seeds. Today I come home and saw they finished the job -- pieces and shreds of the sedum are lying around all over like the chipmunk killed it with great glee!!! This is the only plant they've attacked like this. Boy am I glad I didn't buy more, it would have been like a chipmunk playground.
Is the sedum salvagable? The tops are ripped off from the roots but I have short stems -- can they be rooted? I won't plant it outdoors again but I could tuck it in pots in the sunroom. I love the texture so I can't just throw it in compost yet!
