Brown Tips on Liriope

Posted by sportzkat VA - USDA 6 (My Page) on

Last year my varigated liriope got brown tips on all of the leaves. Big Blue liriope located in the same vicinity did not. This year it is happening again. The plants appear healthy, but the tips of the leaves are brown 2"-3" back.

Any thoughts on what might cause this, and suggestions on what to do about it?

Thanks!

sportzkat, did you cut back the liriope in early spring or late winter? If not, you can still cut back the older leaves but you will have to do it carefully so as not to cut the new growth.

Yes, I cut it back in early March. All of the brown tips are on new growth.
