Periwinkle and road salt

I am a novice gardener and have just planted an entire 70 foot ditch with periwinkle. We live in an an area where it will certainly receive a good amount of road salt in the winter. Is this just a good case of giving it some extra attention in the early spring or is it an insurmountable problem? Thank you in advance, Amy

Filix, thank you for taking the time to answer. I think from what I've read it'll survive! That is very, very postive, as between planting and subsequent weeding, this has been a time consuming project! Again, thanks, Amy
