Ajuga Wilt?

Posted by westy1941 z5 NO IL (cdwestg@comcast.net) on

I think I posted this question on the perennials forum and am still confused. I planted some Catlin's Giant a few weeks ago and also have some 'Bronze' something -- both are suffering a strange wilt. Part of each plant wilts and eventually dies and the stolons of that part look black. I'm not watering too much - we just had 3" of rain three days ago and it is allowed to dry out between any waterings. Is that the problem? It doesn't look dry - it looks sick.

TIA,
Westy

RE: Ajuga Wilt?

I had bad luck with ajuga too and still am not sure about what it needs but I had luck in my case by moving what little I had left to a sunnier area. I know it's supposed to grow in shade but mine got the severe dwindles. When I moved it to sunnier area it started recovering.

Anyone else have more information to share?
