The very center top of the mounds are turning brown, brown, brown;looking dead, dead, dead, the tentacles are healthy as can be and spreading nicely. I don't believe foot traffic has been excessive tho.
We've had enuf rain, and additional sprinkling is in order too.
Is this a problem? Will it "come back" healthy next spring?
It wasn't that way last year when the plants were newly placed into the soil. Oh woe is me................jaemy

I've read that the hardiest it is is to Zone 5 and then it should be heavily mulched. If the rhizomes are spreading means there is life but barely. Sorry. Foot traffic shouldn't bother.
