Ground cover around new patio

Hi Everyone,

I just finshed my new patio and it looks great. Now I have to work on the area around it. On one side it slopes down and I need to plant groundcovering plants to help keep the earth from moving. I love flowers that stay for a long time and do not know if this is possible in ground covers. I would love to hear what you recommend for the area.

Corydalis lutea and Corydalis ochreleuca are both possibilites as is Dicentra eximina and Podophyllum pedatum.

A couple of possibilities would be poppy mallow (Callihroe involucrata) and the groundcover rose Seafoam, which is white. Both plants are xeric and do well in zone 5.
