Asiatic Jasmine

About 10 years ago we moved from Ohio to northern Florida. We thought it would be nice to landscape with some ground cover such as we had used in Ohio. We chose Asiatic Jasmine, and was that a mistake! The jasmine has taken over the property, and looks well on its way to taking over northern Florida. The only thing that seems to discourage it is fire, and I'm reluctant to burn down the house just to get rid of a plant.

Can anyone recommend a specific treatment (by chemical or product name) that I can spray on this stuff to kill it. I don't want to make the soil incapable of ever growing anything again, just kill what is there.

I've tried Ortho Weed & Brush Killer, and also Spectracide Weed Stop. I'm currently trying Spectracide Weed & Grass Killer, but that doesn't seem to be effective, either.

Any suggestions would be appreciated
