rejuvenating old leggy pachysandra

Has anyone rejuvenated a huge patch of pachysandra? I have a huge area that's been going for years and most of the growth is on long, leggy stems. I was considering cutting it all the way back to the ground to give it a fresh start. ANyone tried this?

I always trim mines back as part of regular spring cleaning. It does well, no harm to the plant.
