This summer i had planted a ton of new plants by my creek. We have had so much rain that most have been washed away or covered with sand. Can anyone suggest any ornamental grasses that would establish quickly. The area is in full shade.
Thanks
Another grass that would love the moisture and could possibly take the shade, depending on just how bright it is, is Deschampsia caespitosa, tufted hair grass.
But I like whip1's suggestion of hosta! A bunch of different sizes and colors would be very effective--and maybe mix in some ferns too (which I LOVE). Sweet Woodruff also loves boggy conditions and does well in shade--and Astilbe if you want some flowers.
Thanks for your suggestions. I had planted ferns and hosta and ajuga and some vinca, but the majority got washed away. Maybe I should wait a while for the summer rains to subside and then plant more. I just don't want to waste any money on things that won;t 'hold' the soil/sand.
