Creeping Phlox- too late to cut back?

Posted by gencaf VA (My Page) on

I have a "wild area" that has gotten out of hand. I am most concerned about my creeping phlox. It is HUGE! It has some yellow spots in the middle. I gather I was supposed to cut it back after blooming, can I still do that now? Will it recover then in the spring?

Also, can I take cuttings from this somehow and grow some starts from it. It is a lovely plant when it blooms.

Thanks all!
