Verbena ground cover help?

Posted by PoorOwner Northern CA (My Page) on

I bought a pack of 16 liner of Verbena from home depot, the whole tray. I am not really sure what kind of verbena what they grow to be like.

The leaves look like certain mint leaves and the little cluster of colorful flowers.

Is it a perrenial? I cannot tell there is any bulbs just a hairy root system. Or will they die in the winter?
I planted them kind of close because I would like to see multiple colors. But I see in public there are some single color big clumps of verbena about 2-3' across is that how big they will become? Am I supposed to prune them back to control the size?

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Let your own thoughts and ideas be your guide. Who knows you may start a new style. Whatever you like is what is important. Most of what you see in public is just what landscaping designers have developed. It can be fun to come up with your own design. Just try it, if you do not like it you can always change it.
