| I need help. I have a VERY large area that I want to cover with groundcover. It won't get trampled, but I need to be able to step on it occasionally to access fence (for repairs) or to prune existing trees/bushes. My house faces south-east, and the area I want to plant is in back, facing north-west. Due to overhanging trees and the height of my house, the area seems to stay moist almost all of the time, not much sun except late afternoon for an hour or so. Also, I don't want to have to stop it from climbing (the house, AC units, fence, trees, and the like)
Anyone have any ideas??? |

| Corsican mint (Mentha requienii) or baby tears (Soleirolia soleirolii). Both of which should be evergreen in your zone, like moisture, tolerate a lot of shade and will take foot traffic easily. |

| Thyme does not care for shade or wet/moist soils.....not a great choice for this situation. |
