Best native ground cover for southern Indiana

Hi - I have a very steep bank, 14' x 200', to cover. What would be your recommendation. Also, it needs to be hardy and fast growing. thanks, Sandra

Sun or shade? For shade or part shade, I'd consider partridgeberry, wild ginger or downy phlox. For sun, waldstenia (barren strawberry) or kinninkinnick.
