If you're in any doubts as to hardiness in your zone - it does grow well in wide and relatively shallow containers.

And they're not kidding when they mention the drainage. Think scree with plenty of sharp grit and cool, damp-ish underneath. If it browns off then patting it(!) can help it to spread out and infill any patchiness.
