I am redoing my front yard and digging out a large area for groundcover. My house faces west and gets the hot afternoon sun. I planted a tree in the vicinity, but it is only 4' tall and doesn't provide shade. I have looked online at some groundcovers but have not seen them in person. Can you suggest a low-growing one that is a darker green and can take the sun? Online I looked at red creeping thyme, magic carpet thyme and sternkissen dianthus, but have not seen them in person. I will probably order seeds and grow the starts - the area will be a large part of my small yard. Thanks in advance for any advice!
