My front lawn is all thyme...It was here when we bought this house..it was beautiful and full growing in lovely little mounds..since last summer there are many bald patches, they start off brown and turn bald. There is a lot of grass growing in the time, and I try to pull out the grass..Not sure what to do now in October as I would love to see it in full beautiful bloom again next year.. any tips?? cheers, zucchini near Georgian Bay |

| THANKS FOR INFO. I will continue to pull out the grass...and try to mow the thyme before winter. Right now the area is covered with pine needles...they too may be a problem but I don't know. I have more thyme growing in different places and it looks healthy so I may try to transplant some into the bald areas in the spring...thanks again. Zucchini |

| This isn't a very active forum; you may have better luck over in the Perennial forum. Thyme is one of the toughest plants around. Are you overwatering it? Is it getting all day sun? Thyme loves very well-drained soil, little to no supplemental water and can easily suffer from too much watering or fertilizing. I would start by assessing those criteria and definitely keep pulling up the competing grass. |
