Fastest growing groundcovers for warm climates?

I have a problem with quackgrass, and now that I've weeded much of it out, I need a groundcover to put in its' place. I live near San Francisco and would prefer something either drought tolerant or with a low water requirement, as we have 3-4 months each year of summer and autumnal drought. I have snow-in-summer and white alyssium already, but would like something that can fill in an area more quickly.

Hello, Luxrosa. You might consider prairie winecup (Callirhoe involucrata) or woolly speedwell (Veronica pectinata). Both are drought tolerant, especially the prairie winecup.
