Hardy groundcover

I need a hardy ground cover that will do well in the direct sun with poor soil. I have already tried the freeway daisy, but it became too vine like. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thank you!

RE: Hardy groundcover

Lucky you in Calif. with so many choices. or are you in a cold part of Calif. with frost.

I've seen the ivy geraniums en masse -- my mother's neighbor did these and they were always so cheerful. You can just take cuttings and stick them in the soil.

If you need hardy -- how about thyme -- lavender?
Good luck
Susan
