Identify mystery ground cover

This plant grows like crazy and is easy to transplant. It's mostly in the shade but does get some sun. Grows up to 8" tall in mounds, and has grown out onto the driveway. Leaves are heart-shaped with scalloped edges, about 1 1/4" long x 1" wide. Medium green with pale green stripe down the middle. Up to 5 small purple flowers per cluster of leaves. They are about 3/4" long and 1/4" wide at widest point. They kind of remind me of snapdragons or orchids.
Does anyone know what type of plant this is? I'm also wondering if it can be cut way back for the winter (gets in the way of shoveling snow off the driveway.

My guess is that it is a clone of Lamium maculatum.
A rather tolerant plant, that will propably come back with no problem if cut down. Mine is the form 'White Nancy' which never becomes abundant for me, but hangs on in rather heavy shade. |
