Can someone suggest something please?

I normally am on the pond forum but thought I would try this one to see if anyone had some ideas for me. The first photo is of the ground cover I had around my pond until it was taken over by bermuda grass to the extent that I had to remove everything. The second photo is of how it looks now and begs your suggestions of what to plant. I did like the ice plant that was there but it did keep me constantly busy trimming it to keep it from taking over my stream and falls. Is there something that would completely cover this area and not be so time consuming?
Thanks in advance for your help.

How about native grasses? I like your pond and the varying heights of the original groundcover. I'm attaching a link for a company that sells California native seeds in varying heights.

Or maybe different herbs like the different kinds of thyme, roman chamomile, rosemary. Or lantana, verbena, liriope.

You must love the sound of that water! Maureen
