monkey grass

how agressive are they (regular size)? I'd like to plant these along the fence separating my backyard and next door's to keep bermuda out. how deep should i put a border into the ground to contain monkey grass and bermuda?

Can they grow in shade? It would be on the north side of my house so obviously, not much sun therein the winter. The builder sodded bermuda in that area and they croaked from lack of direct sun and have no idea what to plant as ground cover.

Mine grow in shade, part shade and even areas that get a few hours of sun. They seem to adapt to most conditions, but I believe they prefer the shaded areas.
