Not too much longer . . . . .

The recent warm weather is making me excited for the first crocus. Last year it was around Feb. 25th (I think) that I had my first one open (only to be covered with several inches of snow days later). This picture isn't of the first ones last year, but these were my favorite variety; species (snow) crocus 'Blue Pearl'.

Ground is too frozen for bulbs, even with Friday, Dec. 31 at 57F. I finished putting sawdust in my Rose collars, to prevent sprouting in the next couple warm thaw periods. We DID find a dandelion blooming though! Daughter found it, not even under cover. I was pretty amazed.

I LOVE crocus! Got all excited when they came up last spring, then the frickin' rabbits ate them. They never touched crocus before! Bummer.
