violets

I am a California transplant from Escanaba Michigan who really misses seeing my violets in spring. I also miss my little lily of the valley flowers that grew around my house borders.
Does anyone know where I can buy the pips on line at a reasonable price?
The violets I am looking to buy I remember were dark purple, no frills, yellow eyes, with four petals, I believe. Many regarded them as weeds or pests because they would take over a lawn in a season! Ha ha!
But I loved them and can't find them on line to buy.
They may be called viola odorata. I would love some links to buy these to be shipped to me in Calif. and try and grow them in the house.
Thanks for all replies on this matter.
So glad I found this forum.

Catte; Try Bluestone Perennials - link below, look for Violas, when you search on this web site. I don't believe that they carry Lily of The vALLEY- Convaleria, but 'its possible since it's a bulb type of plant.

Here is a link that might be useful: nursery

Brent & Becky's also carry Lily of the Valley in their 2005 catalog. If you come by Chicago, give me a buzz. I have a lot of Lily of the Valley I can dig up for you. :-)

They are just outrageously expensive considering how small they are.
