What to do with tubers

I planted some tubers in the fall and now our new puppy has dug them up. Any suggestions on what to do with the tubers until spring?

Ha ha! Patty . . . either contain the new puppy or get a fence around the tubers - still, you'd have to deal with squirrels and what not, so why not cut up some plastic bottles - put the tops on your plants. Leave the cap off the bottle of course, so they can breathe.

You can secure them with sticks poked into the ground around them.

I have heard that using opaque juice jugs is a good idea.

If it is iris or daylilly tubers just poke them back in and lay wire mesh over the bed. This will let them re-root and keep the dog from digging.

For that matter when I did that around the shed it kept the varmits from digging uder the shed as well.

The bottles is a good idea Except that dogs love to play with liter bottles!
