I'm from Michigan and was wondering if our plants/bulbs
will servive since we had such a late winter.

RE: Late winter

I suspect there will be a few casualties (here in southern Wisconsin), but I am actually grateful at this point for our dense snow cover and consistent cold.

Year before last I planted over 200 Spring-blooming bulbs at my sister's and niece's places and about 3/4 of them never emerged - rotted in the ground due to the warm winter and very wet Spring.

I think this winter won't take quite the toll that last winter did.

I can't look into a crystal ball for you, but I'd lay bets that most things will make it unless we get repeated thaw/freeze cycles between now and May.

In addition to the garden plants, here in MI at least, I worry the damage the late winter did/ will do to our economy. From what I hear, the ski resorts and other snow related industries [ & here that amounts to a lot ] suffered heavily.

Wonder if the fruit trees will be okay.
