Seed Starting - Is this OK?

Seed Newbie Question:

I started some seeds this year using peat pucks in trays that were saved from last year. I scrubbed the trays out before using them.

But I don't see a hint of growth yet.

Is it safe to use trays from year to year? Or should I throw them out?

Any help is appreciated!

you're just talking about the plastic trays, right? yes, use them over and over as long as they have been cleaned. not sure why no growth, give them time. you didn't say how long it's been.

Where are you starting the seeds, and what's the temperature there? Also, what kind of seeds?

LOL Terryincs, yes I just re-used the trays, I guess you have to ask on the internet. :-)

This morning 2 pepper plants were up, I guess they just weren't ready to come up yet.

Thanks for the help! I really wasn't sure if this was OK to reuse the trays.

I think you should get rid of those used plastic trays. If you wash the old soil out of them, and give them a bit of a soak in a mild javex solution, I'd be glad to take them to the dump for you.
