Shrubs for Shade?

| I am looking for a type of shrub that would be fine in mostly shade that is not poisionous to dogs. Any ideas? I want it to go in front of my deck. |

| I think yews might work in the shade. Rhodies should, too. Have no idea about whether they're toxic to dogs, though. |
