I am looking for a type of shrub that would be fine in mostly shade that is not poisionous to dogs. Any ideas? I want it to go in front of my deck.

I think yews might work in the shade. Rhodies should, too. Have no idea about whether they're toxic to dogs, though.

Here is a list of poisonous plants from the humane society, both yews and rododendrons are on there. http://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/protect_your_pet_from_common_househo ld_dangers/common_poisonous_plants.html
