Egrets!

| The egrets have come back! There are three big, white egrets at the retention pond beyond my back yard. I love watching them fish. It's truely Spring when the egrets and Great Blue Herons return to roost. (So what if there are snow flurries.) |

Oh, dont' you just gaze in awe at their beauty? No egrets in evidence at our local ponds/lakes in SE Wisconsin, but plenty of big blue herons. I enjoy watching their strange stalking fishing technique.
Its a sure sign of Spring, in spite of the bitter winds and occasional snow flurries today.
What else do you see at your pond?

i thought this was some sort of internet decline to an inviation. on the subjuect we have a great blue heron rookery here in the akron area that is a delight to birders for much of the spring. if you are ever in the area its a must check out in th cuyahoga valley national park.
