When can you plant red beets?

I was wondering if it is o.k. and go ahead planting red beets. We really enjoy the beet greens and I was hoping you could sow now.
Thanks so much

Beets can take a pretty early planting. I haven't any in yet, just because I haven't gotten around to it. I'd plant some now. You can plant another crop of them about every two weeks, to extend the harvest. That way, if the earliest crop gets frozen off by late freeze, you'll have more.
