Raney's, 10 Mile Rd, South Lyon

Barson's, Merriman Rd, Westland

Massab Acres in Taylor

Great Lakes Roses, Belleville

Prelipp's, off M-50, Britton

Albring's and Clark's in Ida

(These are about 45 min away -- but worth the trip for great prices on annuals, vegetables and container plants)

Local farmer's markets are also great places --Ann Arbor and Northville both have excellent small growers.

In Grand Rapids, I really like Romence Gardens. Excellent selection and a large number of things you don't see all the time. Employees know what they're talking about.

Semerau in Eastpointe, on Gratiot between 9 and 10 mile...good prices and fairly good selection

Arrowhead Alpines in Fowlerville. If AA does'nt have it, you will not likely find it anywhere (including online if you are looking for perennials or alpines). Their catalog is almost 100 pages with no pictures (you need to know the official names of what you are looking for in the catalog). A true plant-geek's paradise and well worth the drive.
