Looking for hydrangea alternative

My landscape friend recommended I plant endless summer hydrangea in my back yard. I like the plant but was looking for something a little bushier/fuller year round instead of waiting for it to fill in.
Here's the problem, I am not fond of snowballs, viburnum, forsythia, all the common shrubs.
Any great ideas out there? |

| If you're in the GTA, I suggest a trip to "Lost Horizons" there you can see for yourself, in the display garden, what you like. Rai |
