Hardy Kiwi care?

| Last year I plant a female and a male Hardy Kiwi. The male is over 7 feet tall up the trellis, with at least one smaller vine at the bottom (about 6" or so). The female is a tiny thing around 4" tall if that. Should I prune the male? I read last year to expect the male to grow alot larger than the female. I had also read that I could possibly even have fruit this year.
Does anyone else grow this and can give me more info and tips? Thanks!

| It took almost six years for my kiwis to mature enough to produce fruit. When both flower prolifically, fruit to follow. Each year I give them a fertilizer spike designed for fruit trees, try to water them regularly and they do fine. They even survive the attacks by the rose chafers. |
