Killing stuff (Pachysandra and junk maples)

Once upon a time, a very long time ago, someone in the neighbourhood planted pachysandra. Now we all have it. I have spent 3 years digging and spraying this b*gger, and it keeps coming back. Unless someone has any better suggestions, gasoline is starting to look good.

On a related note.. manitoba maples. Cut down below ground level, but I need to ensure that they don't come back up, as I want to get my shed built THIS year. What works on these nasty beasties?

The best way to kill Manitoba Maple (or any woody plant) is to apply non-diluted roundup to the freshly cut stump. The stump must be freshly cut, and clean, so that the phloem cells will take the roundup to the roots.
