I have been looking through all my books... and can not find the name of the below tree. Any help is appreciated.

Here's some information about your tree. It's official name is Syringa reticulata and its common name is, of course, Japanese tree lilac

The link below will take you to the Kemper Center for Home Gardening at the lovely Missouri Botanical Garden and provide you with some information about this plants. With a little searching, you will find excellent information about many other plants.
