something eating my dahlias

I'm relatively new to gardening and have planted some dahlias in planter boxes in my backyard. They are sitting on the ground in front of my deck. In the last couple of weeks I've noticed that something seems to be eating them. They have holes all over the leaves and the flowers. My husband has sprayed 'bug be gone' (or something like that name) in the soil, but it doesn't seem to be helping. Any suggestions?

As I mentioned in the dahlia forum, it looks like snails or slugs. Put some slug bait out and see if that helps.

Ya..I'm quite sure its slugs as well. My dahlias started getting "Holy" the same time as my Hostas. The slug bait stopped the problem in its slimey tracks.
