Knock Out Roses-planting in acid soil?

We are going to take down some 50 year old pines and the area is now my shade garden. i would like round up the pacasandra and snow on the mountain, vinca vine etc.. and replace them with knock out roses and another complimentary bush.

I know i will have to wait for the roundup to work and remove the top layer of mulch from the area... but then would the soil be ok to plant knock out roses in?

any idea how long i might have to wait to plant them?

Wait as long as the label says on the Roundup. The soil will not be more acidic than anywhere else in your yard.

Joe Pye Weed is a wonderful compliment to your knockout roses. The variety with the deep burgandy leaves and clusters of white blooms resembles baby's breath in appearance but does not mimic the overgrowth that folks sometimes complain about. Its fall blooms are also very much appreciated by migrating butterflies and honey bees storing up for winter.
