Does anyone have experience growing this shrub in SE Wisconsin / northern Illinois? We have clay, slightly alkaline soil in most areas around here. I have read that it prefers slightly acidic soil.

    I have had one for about 12 years in clay and a pH of 7.5ish and it is doing fine.
