is it too late to plant flower seeds?

Even though i've been gardening for several years now, I am still learning. I've always wondered about time limits on planting certain veggies and flower seeds. I've already planted my corn about two weeks ago, it's about 5" high now, i'm hoping it will do good, but i'm not too hopeful for it. I am still wondering what flower seeds, if any, can be planted now and still see results? It's been a crazy year with my mother taking ill and not being able to plant my garden at the usual time. Priorities come first and the number one would be caring for my mom.

Hi,
Zinnias germinate and grow very fast in full sun. There are so many different varieties and the colors are bright and cheerful. They're one of my favorites.
